NO HST ON RESALE HOMES IN ONTARIO

Just  a reminder to all the Buyers, HST is NOT applicable to the purchase price of resale homes.  HST is only applicable to services associated with  the purchase including legal fees, some disbursements and some financing fees - like appraisals.

Thanks to the efforts of our Association and memebers, the Ontario Government has teamed up with OREA and produced a YOU TUBE video explaining how HST applies to Real Estate in Ontario. Click on the link below to view.....

HST is applicable to NEW HOME purchases and MOST builders build it into their pricing...but always ask.  Rebates are made available for a portion of this tax through Revenue Canada, however, the majority of New Home builders require you to sign over your rights to any rebates to them...its been a practice for years now.

 Sellers are required to pay HST on Real Estate fees and Legal fees.
